From Wikibooks, open books for an open world

I'm a simple person and like most simple people I'm pretty complex once you scratch the surface.  ;-)

I started doing computer work at the age of 5 when my father was one of the programmers for Globe Glass in Chicago in the 1970's. I think we were one of the few people that actually had a computer in our living space. An old IBM green-screen desktop - all one piece - I forget the model number. One of the old 5100 series boxes with a tape drive in it. From there I learned how to do basic programming. My life has never been the same since! At age 35 I'm still regularly involved with computers and other sundry things.

On other fronts I have many, many things I'm interested in on a semi-regular basis:

Blacksmithing/Swordsmithing

Journals/Writing/Papermaking

Woodworking/Walking Staffs

Pipes - tobacco. (Check out a friend of mine:Pipecrafter.com)

Art - sketching and other materials

Medieval Weapons

Artistic Electronics - cool blinkies and My blender runs NetBSD sort of stuff. ;-)

I've been married now for almost 10 years to a wonderful wife. I have a daughter who will be 7 this June. She's Autistic, I have Aspergers, but she's extremely smart. She just has a serious communication problem.

Other odd things include owning a rusting non-running 1972 International Travellall 1110 that I someday hope to get running. And a 3x3 sheet of copper that I hope to hammer into a hand-made firepit in the backyard this summer.

It's pretty lame right now but my home site is terminalcore.net. Please don't hammer my bandwidth. Thanks!

Well, enough jabbering about me. I hope to contribute more writing where I can and have knowledge. Long live Wikibooks! *grin*
