From Wikibooks, open books for an open world

William "Scott" Baker

[edit | edit source]

I am a developer using the Microsoft .NET Framework preparing for the Microsoft certification. The way I figure it, there can be no better way to learn new material than to write about it. I have to research it, study it and know it before I can sit down and churn out something that someone else can understand -- or at least that is my hope.

I am also an Aircraft Maintenance Technician for Delta Air Lines. But that's just my day job.

Hobbies

[edit | edit source]
  • I am intrigued by how everything works.
  • I consider myself to be a "Maker" in the Make Magazine sort of way. I can improve something to the point that it doesn't work at all - just ask my wife.
  • I believe that open source books have the potential to be fantastic learning tools - imagine if everyone who really knew about a topic wrote the encyclopedia article for it.
  • I love to snowboard. I'm not very good at it, but I love it anyway. I live in the Puget Sound area in a town called Bonney Lake - I'm an hour west of Crystal Mountain, but I much prefer the terrain and quality of snow (seems 'dryer' most of the time) at Stevens Pass, despite the longer drive.
