Wikibooks is a community of people not just a webserver filled with e-books. As such, it is important that people treat each other in kind and constructive ways.
Do Unto Others
[edit | edit source]Wikibookians are encouraged to be civil towards one another, if they absolutely cannot be completely nice. Give others the benefit of the doubt when they do something you disagree with. Don't insult people, use bad language, or otherwise be unpleasant. Also, when possible, help out the new users. If every new user gets off to the right foot, wikibooks will be a better place.

Accept What You Should Not Change
[edit | edit source]Wikibooks is a collaborative project, and as such, there are many different people contributing to it. Anything that you contribute could be fixed, edited, revised, altered, or even deleted completely (although the latter shouldn't happen unless you've made a big mistake). This is normal, and is even encouraged. Unfortunately, this also means that you can't control projects you work on, and that you can't prevent other people from contributing to them. If you see people doing things differently from you, talk to them, work together, and find a good middle ground.
