Book Names
[edit | edit source]Wikibooks doesn't have a hard policy about what names can and cannot be used for a book. However, there are times when the title of a book doesn't appropriately match the content that the book contains. In these cases, the best way to procede is to have the book renamed to something better.
Renaming A Book
[edit | edit source]Here are some things that you can do to pursue a book rename (which is a bit of a big deal):
- Solicit feedback on the book's main talk page, or in the reading room.
- Come up with a good new name for the book, and make sure it isn't taken.
- Post a notice on the front of the book with
{{Move}}
- Move all pages to the new name
- Clean up double-redirects
- Make sure the book is properly categorized so people can find it.
