10th digit - Manufacture year M=91, N=92, P=93, Y=2000, 1=2001, 2=2002 etc until 2010 after 2010, this number is for the decade (1=2010s, 2=2020s) 11th digit - Until 2010, this was a production sequence number, typically zero. After 2010, this became part of the manufacture year. "17" for digits 10 and 11 means the car was made in 2017.
12th digit - Until 2010, this was a production sequence number, typically zero. After 2010, this was used to indicate the gearbox 5 = 5-speed gearbox 6 = 6-speed gearbox 0 = no gearbox (for non-approved vehicles)
13th digit - Until 2010, this was a production sequence number, typically zero. After 2010, this was used to indicate the build Package 1 = Starter Kit (Seven) 2 = Series 3 Kit 3 = Series 3 4 = Caterham21 5 = Series 5 (V) 6 = CSR 7 = Special
