Goslar is a historical city in Germany. It is a city with a population of about 43,000. In 922 A.D, Germany King Henry I founded Goslar. In the 11th century Goslar became a temporary place where the Emperor rules. 1n 1253, Goslar became a Free City (that means without being ruled a Duke) in the Holy Roman Empire. In 1803, Goslar lost its status as a Free City and belonged to Prussia. French Emperor Napoleon made Goslar a part of the Kingdom of Westphalia. After further conflicts it became part of the Kingdom of Hanover. From the 19th century onwards, Goslar lives mainly on tourism. In 1992, Goslar was designated as an UNESCO World Heritage Site.
