Dragoş Voda (1352-1353). Ruler of Maramureş. According to the first Moldovan chronicals he is the first known ruler of Moldova. The throne fortress was situated on the shore of the river Moldova, in one of the most ancient Moldovan towns - Baia (first mentioned in 1300).

Bogdan Vodă I (1359-1365). Ruler of Maramure= till 1359. Rebels against the Hungarian king and goes over to Moldova, hence he drove the ruler Balc, a Hungarian vassal and where he led the Moldovans’ fight for liberation from under the Hungarian suzerainty. Established the basis of the independent feudal Moldovan state.

Laţcu Vod[ (1365-1375). Achieves Moldova’s recognition at the international level. Moves the throne to Siret.

Petru I Muşat (1375-1391). Beginner of the Mu=atins’ dynasty. For the first time in Moldova he coined silver money. Built the fortresses Neamţ and Suceava, whither he moved the capital of the country.

Roman Voda Mu=at (1391-1394). Incorporates the Lower Country and names himself the ruler that governs the Country of Moldova from the mountains to the sea.
