I. N. R. I.(Latin) Iesus Nazarenus Rex Iudaeorum (Jesus the Nazarene, King of the Jews).[1] According to John 19:19, this was the inscription Pilate wrote and placed on Christ's cross.[2] The original Greek form is ιησους ο ναζωραιος ο βασιλευς των ιουδαιων (Iēsous ho Nazōraios ho Basileus tōn Ioudaiōn). According to John 19:20, the inscription was written in Hebrew (which probably means Aramaic), Latin and Greek.
