A beowulf cluster is a cluster of computers designed to run computing jobs in parallel. This provides an up-to date example of assembled hardware and installed programs (plus configuration). There will be explanations of how to run processes in parallel with computing languages such as matlab and R. After the computers are setup we may want to transfer the configuration to other computers, a process called cloning. In the last chapter, we will deal with benchmarking and profiling.
