To assist the injured in getting aid, most countries have designated a specific number as a universal emergency telephone number. Another name for it is the emergency services number. Dialing this number should connect you to the nearest EMS call center. With mobile phones, it may be advantageous to use a local number, as the recognized call center may be incorrect.
