Hypericum

[edit | edit source]
The genus Hypericum is organized here into sections as treated by Robson (2016).[1] The name Hypericum was derived from the Greek hyper (above) and eikon (picture), possibly indicating that the flowers of these plants were hung above pictures or windows.
Hypericum sect. Brathys
[edit | edit source]
Robson describes this group as an "informal sect. group." It combines the New York Hypericum species which were previously placed in sections Brathys and Trigynobrathys.
